Series and Hugh came about because we have no spell checker resident on FR. The posters were typing quickly and the rest is history.

But moose and cheese and jumping into the shower....

Can't blame that on lousy tiping.

The moose came from Monte Python's tag lines creeping in the credits for one of their movies:

Mooses biting sisters and canning the ones who were responsible for canning the ones who were supposed to have canned the ones who were writing about the moose-biting sister.

Cheese came from a impromptu remark ("I like cheese") from one disgusted reader who was trying to follow a vanity thread who's own writer kept getting off topic in his own thread in a series of disjointed (wierd) paragraphs.

"Obviously", now any thread that mentions moose has to include cheese - and vice versa. Just like now; any thread that discusses GWII has to include at least one belly girl reference.

Shower: Some lady was following a thread very closely about an emergency in her hometown (or something equally critical locally ....) - then suddenly signed off and told everybody else to keep reading the thread because "I have to go take a shower now."

Series? Shirley I'm series about all this.
