Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Was that not hilarious? Now I want to see more Kurds in the action!
Hunt reiterating about the 2-star Marine General who is up there coordinating the troops.
I wonder who that could be?
To: TomGuy
Bursts and flashes on Bagdad webcams (CNN and MSNBC) I heard that was just the wind.

Somehow, some way we have to win the pr war,,we know the nets and cnn are nothing more than propaganda machines,,somehow everyone needs to see this. People just passively tune into CNN cause it is easy.

Does anyone here know who owns Reuters?

You bu-bye me like I was the one being petty. You are the one who is having a hard time blending here. What's the matter, don't like to welcome new people to FR? Or maybe you don't like when people inject a little levity when news is a little slow? Your short but ignorant posts are not impressing me in the least. Go away, I'm busy.
To: Jackie-O
Two months is NOT new; you've had baptism by fire by now.

Just had a qurcky thought: What if the republican guard are REALLY those b*****s out there in the desert doing those ambushes and such and the "force" around Bagdad is all for show? The reason being to try to bluff us into thinking that it will be tougher than we had thought? It would explain another post hinting that the RG are surrendering in the south.
To: ztiworoh
Definately too PC.
I have been in the USAF for 22 years .. I've watched us go from the swaggering chest out don't mess with us days of Reagan to the touchy-feely force we have become.
Everyone, please don;t get me wrong - our military men and women are the best, are professionals and above all are American's. We will fight hard and will win, but Belevaqua is right on this point.
We are constantly hammered with Rules of Engagement, the Law of Armed Conflict, How to treat Prisoners, How to treat civilians, how to treat different cultures, etc etc etc. We get non stop training on how to be "nice".
We can get mad, and we can definately kick some ass, but we also are ordered to always always wear the White Hat and be the good guys. Not that that is neccesarily worng, but there is and should be a limit.

You have exactly FOUR posts on your comments page. I wouldn't be telling people how to behave on FR.
To: Anomaly in Illinois
