***Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - Day 5 - LIVE THREAD***
Everywhere! | 23 Mar 2003 | An.American.Expatriate

Posted on 03/23/2003 8:56:32 PM PST by null and void

Good Morning.

This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.

It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.

Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:

To all who helped this get started, thank you!

Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Again, 1992 was about Perot. Thanks to Buchanan, and I mean that sincerely, we'll not have to worry about a 3rd party for a while. Nader, and the peaceniks are going to take the hawkish stance of most ot the Dems out on them come next election. They WILL run some antiwar fruitcake and lose any rational dems, if they run a hawk, they will lose their base, the fruitcakes. The rational dems and the fruitcakes have some kissing and hugging to catch up on and it will take a long time, if ever.

You don't have to register for this article. For future, most papers that require user names and passwords accept "ANNOYING" for user name, and "ANNOYING" for password. Thanks to whoever set this up. Works like a charm and is easy to remember ;o)

My useless Senators are part of the problem (Snowe, Collins). This part of the US needs to go through some harsh times in order to get its head straight. Life is too easy for these pikers.

Drudge is running a segment with personal information about one of our POW's. It mentions his wife, 5 YO daughter, that his 18 year old brother cried, and that his mother is worried that he'll be hungry or cold. How likely is it that this info will be used against him during interrogation?

THAT WAS A BIG MISTAKE. I had some training in this area and the enemy would run hard with any info that they could obtain about a captive.

Pretty stupid IMHO. So is the networks running the story about the one POW's mom seeing him on tv and calling in saying he looks scared.

I've no idea if this is reported on network TV. This IS the second piece I've seen about this particular POW (one was a local news article, this one may also be) which quotes his mother and brother. The wife isn't saying anything.

This is not Drudge's story. This is from the New Mexico Star-Tribune.

What a bunch of idiots...you can't "cost out" tax rate changes like that. You'd think decades of evidence would..oh wait, it's Dems and RINO's.

Let me guess. The Maine bimbos and Lincoln Chaffee?

Yes, Saddam DID do this years ago, but he learned from it. Notice he didn't take the UN folks or other nationals hostage like last time? I agree, this was a sign that he may not be in power, but some other sicko.

60 in the Senate. That would be extremely hard. Of course winning an election for President by 574 votes in Florida wasn't a cake walk either.
