Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

sent this to my brother earlier today:
It would help if the majority of newspeople (radio the worst) and democrats who wake up every day with a personal prayer that something happens to make Bush fail in some way would get a country. It bodes badly for an army when there is such
hatred for it's commander back home.

A firefight. They are hunkering down but he says things are proceeding and knows of no U.S. casualties.

is that just wind like earlier?

Oh.....I didn't post it... because I understood it. Not intending in any manner to criticize you. I post my comment simply as a reminder to all....that the left-leaning, idiotic, editorial writers masquerading as reporters are the price we pay in this country.
It DOES get ridiculous. But we are much better off now...then 5 years ago. There are alternatives out there that continue to erode the viewerships/circulations of the leftist media.
If the leftist media was winning this PR war, our President wouldn't have a 72% approval rating, imo.

Here is Victor Davis Hanson's response about the smarmy reporters:
It is not merely that so many are so ignorant of history, or that most who are degreed and certified are glib and swarmy, but not educated. No, the better explanation is that they rarely work among, know, see or care about the type of Americans now barreling to Baghdad who are still a different, and I think, a better sort of people.
VDH continually makes that point that these media, academic, Hollywood, and political elites are far removed from the ordinary person, the backbone of this country. We may be flyover country, but the American ethos derives from ordinariness wherein lies our extraordinariness.

I agree. The most intelligent discussion of this was by Bill Kristol (go figure) who said that he believes the original idea was to preserve the TV as part of the infrastructure for post-war recovery. He thinks with the phony Saddam tapes and the POW's being paraded, General Franks may be re-thinking this decision.
I understand why the TV was preserved, but now, it is time for them to go.

Anyone know where they are now, and any ETA???
Last I heard was "in transit of the Red Sea" and that was several days ago...

Please bear in mind that the press/media encompasses people who are not just ideologically biased, but, more importantly, these are people who are profoundly ignorant and unsubstantial. Most, if not all, have only a liberal arts background from liberal schools where they learned to parrot their liberal professors.
These unsubstantial people are not worth your blood pressure or anyone else's.
