Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Is there an article on this? I've heard about it but that's it. Why are the Syrians upset if it was inside Iraq? If there were Syrians on it, well, duh, do they not know there's a war going on?

I thought we were bombing them and I also heard that things will slow down here as we allow the air campaign to soften the targets and the RG a bit more before our ground troops can move. Not sure who was saying this but it was on FNC. I am sure we are bombing them. He was refering to ground combat.

Who was that reporter that just got his legs chopped off by Torie?

I watched.....and am glad I did.
Got to witness Moore's meltdown..and subsequently being booed off the stage; got to hear Steve Martin's OH SO SUBTLE digs at the stars who have been the most vocal against the war and President Bush; got to see Matthew McGonnaghy's (sp?) red, white and blue flowers worn in his lapel; got to see the wonderful ending to the best actor's acceptance speech (The Pianist...can't remember his name); and finally, got to see Martin's last comments to the troops overseas, who were watching this broadcast, pledging America's support and hoping they stay safe, and come home soon.

I believe it was the New Scientist or StratFor that had the info that the AC-130 was the most expensive due to the recent electronics upgrades. I wondered also about the bombers.
