I have a thumbnail generator.

Or you could do that ;)

This has not been a very good week.

Sure it has - you had a heck of a protest going on, it looks like. Don't beat yourself up over silly mistakes...

The quote of the day was from an NYPD officer who was working the barricade. At one point it was getting pretty crowded so (very kindly) all of the police came over and moved the barricade out 10 feet. Needless to say we all applauded and offered a few NYPD cheers. As he set down the barricade the officer looked at us and said, "Just so long as you're not throwing them at us like those animals yesterday." Amazing. He indicated that twelve of his fellow officers were taken to the hospital on Saturday and two were still there yesterday. Disgraceful.

Great Shots! All of them loaded just fine for me. I guess at the next rally I'm gonna have to get out in the street and dance or something because I haven't been caught in a single photo yet! Oh well....was a GREAT day anyway.

I would assume it is a lot of work setting a rally like this one up. I hope we can do another one soon (and if we do, that I can come to it). I am thrilled to have heard it publisized on WABC radio at every newsbreak on Friday, and that Malzberg and Curtis & Kuby promoted it a lot also. It would be great is we could get Sean Hannity to promote it next time. I heard him saying how Lazio and he were at the fundraising dinner they had on Sat. night for a school on Long Island. Think Hannity would ever come to one of these Rallies to support the troops? I mean, after all, it's for exactly what he stands for. Probably wishful thinking but he would be a great draw and if the number grew in support rallies the media would notice. Lazio would be a great draw also I think.

The only problem the Police had was to keep the patriotic tourists from stopping in the middle of 42nd Street to take pictures of the rally. One cop was telling me that at the Saturday anti-war rally a woman spat on him, so he smacked her across the face and arrested her, needless to say she needed stitches before she was booked.

Thanks, great pictures. But please in the future send out a text-only ping so the My Comments page doesn't get gummed up, or omit me from the ping. Thank you.

Mega - Bump for The Big Apple.

I never thought I would say this, but I love (this part) of New York.

My son and his wife travelled over half the country to be in Times Square on New Year's Eve, 1999 - so they could see in the New Millenium there. He brought us back T-shirts with backdrops of the World Trade Center Twin Towers painted on the front.

They have never been worn. They will never be worn - I get them out and show them to friends.

Jihad idiots were planning on killing tens of thousands of people that night in N.Y.C. we later found out.

They waited until 9/11.

Freedom Is Not Free

"The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil constitution, are worth defending at all hazards; and it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors; they purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood. It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men." Samuel Adams

"I had made it clear to the world that either you're with us or you're with the enemy, and that doctrine still stands"

You need an image editing program of some kind, that will let you resize the images - when I'm too lazy to fire up Photoshop, Ulead's PhotoImpact is a nice editor that's a bit more flexible than something super-simple like PhotoDeluxe from Adobe, but won't take as long to learn as Photoshop.

I would suggest trying someplace like www.download.com - check the user reviews of some of the image-editing software there, and try out some of the trial-versions and shareware editors to find one you're comfortable with. Personally, I like PhotoImpact, but YMMV ;)

I should say, that's for images you control and plan to post from your own web-host. If you're linking to images on some other website, you can resize them with the HEIGHT and WIDTH attributes in the IMG tag.

<IMG SRC="http://users.rcn.com/emerald.eyes/032303/01.jpg"> gives you this:

...which is a 400x300 jpeg file. But if I put this in:

<IMG SRC="http://users.rcn.com/emerald.eyes/032303/01.jpg" WIDTH=200 HEIGHT=150>

...you get this:

Which is half the height and half the width of the original. This just changes the way it's displayed, though, not the actual size of the image file - for that, you have to use an image editor, like I suggested before...

Thanks for the heads up. If I could pick what would get quoted, it would have been, "Imagine how many people we'd have if Richard Mellon Scaife would adopt us so we could match ANSWER's sugrdaddy's bucks."
