But they let us join their convoy in our Pajeros (basically, gas-guzzling SUVs). We drove down a road with mines on either side. At night, the Marines told us that we had to go back south. Despite the dangers, we chose not to follow their orders.

Just had to find a way to send his political message, bashing SUV's... The last sentence would indicate he's more of a saboteur than reporter.

If seven Iraqi solders shooting with AK-47s can't kill an unarmed idiot who was basically target practice after he flipped over his vehicle and crawled away from it, I'd have to wonder how good they'd be if they were being subject to accurate return fire.

It's just better all around for the Iraqi soldiers to have bad aim, even if the occassional idiot reporter survives because of it.

I'm sure if this newly embedded reporter gets out of line and does anything to endanger the troops he's now with, he'll get some of that famous military "wall to wall counseling" from one of the SGTs in a hurry...
