Iraq says to respect Geneva Convention for POWs
BAGHDAD, March 23 (Reuters) - Iraq's Defence Minister said on Sunday that it would respect the Geneva Convention and would not harm U.S. prisoners of war.
"Iraq will not harm the captured prisoners of war," Defence Minister Sultan Hashim Ahmed told a news conference. "It will treat them in accordance with the Geneva Convention on prisoners of war."
He also said that the bodies of U.S. soldiers were lying abandoned on a battlefield near the central Iraq city of Nassiriya. He said that Iraq had destroyed 10 tanks and 20 armoured personnel carriers in fighting across southern Iraq.

My only hope is that our leaders will make the suffering and sacruifices of our boys and girls count. Not one of those Iraqi militaries can be allowed to survive this war.
We want their hides.

They said that in the Gulf War and LIED. When what was left of our POWS returned, they told blood-curdling tales of torture and humiliation.
It is time to take the gloves off and bunker bomb the Ministry of Information. There is some intelligence that claims that an Iraqi military command center is built underneath the building because the Iraqis felt we would not risk bombing the reporters! I say, give some of the reporters a heads up, then BOOM! We must not allow the Iraqis to violate the Geneva Convention by showing these gruesome close-ups and barbaric photos over and over again, just so a bunch of Islamofascists can throw a street party in celebration and think that we are losing this fight.

According to Rumsfeld, the Iraqis have already violated the Geneva Convention:
On CBS "Face the Nation," Rumsfeld was shown footage relayed by the Arabic satellite station Al-Jazeera that Iraq television claimed were captive U.S. soldiers. "That's a violation of the Geneva Convention, those pictures you showed," Rumsfeld said of the international law on treatment of prisoners of war. He said the convention prohibits the photographing or interrogation by media of those captured in battle.
