Is it possible that the Iraqis dressed up some prisoners from their own jails, in American uniforms, and killed them (or had they lay down in such a way as to look like they had been killed)? I realize this is wishful thinking, but I hold out hope anyway.

Who gives a g d-mn about world opinion? My blood is boiling right now. It's pretty apparent to the Iraqi's that the only people in the world who are going to do anything are already there. Plus, you assume that many in the world will be upset by this. Many in the world, and even here, will be happy to hear the news.
