Lebanon TV (LBC) showed captured American prisoners of war on a live television remote just now from Iraq. This was a very disturbing live broadcast which LBC broke into regular program to air. I just saw it with my own eyes.

They showed several captured American army soldiers. They showed two white males (one wounded) and one black female. They gave name and rank, and gave additional information. They were under extreme duress. The questions were barked at them in poor English by a combination of LBC reporters and Iraqi military holding them.

One soldier could not get the thick accented English from one of the questioners. They were asked where they were from. They all said “Texas”. This did not appear to me to be staged actors, but for real. The soldiers had looked a little roughed up, but receiving medical attention. My assumption was this was from Al Nasayria. LBC, Egypt TV, Al Jazeera are all allowed to get around much easier than western journalists, it appears.

This appeared live from Iraq at about 10:45 a.m. Eastern Time Sunday.
