I don't believe that.
Billboard is probably artifically keeping them up to try to make us think we are having no effect.

The D.U.h crowd is responsible for a lot of that,
many posts about buying cd's in support.
Let things die down, and so will the Vichy Chicks career's
They were made career-wise by people who normally listen to country music, not hard-core libs...

In the long run, yes. But these figures resulted from pre-faux pas momentum. I think you'll see a remarkable slowing of their sales.
I know, for example, while I love cop/"Shoot-em-up" movies, many years ago I personally boycotted ANY movie with Danny Glover or Alec Baldwin in it. (I cut some of the other Baldwins slack, as so far they haven't said anything quite as stupid). Likewise Clooney.
What you (and they) will find is that overall sales start to stagnate---and they will be unable to explain why. They will blame it on other things, but trust me, these low-level boycotts, if enforced, do begin to have an impact.
BTW, was in the theater this week---on SUNDAY afternoon, "prime time." Two other sets of people were in there. It was a ghost theater (and an admittedly bad movie, "View from the Top," but no one knew that yet, as it just came out).
