The NY Times is saying he was a "converted" muslim, which means that the original report of a "black muslim" was correct all along. In fact, more than half of the muslims in the US are "converts" and black.

I doubt there are a lot of Arab muslims in the Services, and if there are any, no doubt, right now they're dumped in some "token" position where they can do little harm.

Black muslims, however, are a different story. Blacks comprise 13% of the Services--32,500 in the theater now--and of that number assume 5% are self-identified Black Muslims--conservative assumption if you ask me. That gives us 1,625 black muslims, and this frightens me.

Why? Because blacks who've converted to Islam have done so because (i) they hate the U.S., (ii) hate Jews, and (iii) hate White people. In other words, the perfect candidate for a maggot who would do something like this. One or two here or there, no big deal, but 1,625 could do real damage.

Will the army respond like, for example, civilians did after 911---with diversity training so that there would be no hateful backlash, maybe have Christian soldiers dress up like mohams to know how it feels yadayada?

What about other soldiers and what about their wives and families back home? Don't they need to know that the army leadership will take decisive action? Gosh---I cannot imagine what it must be like......the soldiers and their families didn't have enough to worry about as it is, what with bio and chem wmd's, now they have to worry about their BACKS??????

I think Franks should come out tomorrow morning and say:

"Ladies and Gentlemen of the U.S Armed Forces, I have your back. First, we have just held the court martial and executed yesterday's murderer, and second, we are removing all islams and mohameddans and five-percenters and black-power and followers of Calypso Louie from the U.S. armed forces permanently. You will not have to look over your shoulder to see who may be lobbing a grenade into your bedroll. Finally, if civlians at home want to welcome those who would slaughter us into their communities and schools and workplaces, so be it. But we in the U.S Armed Forces will no longer allow anyone who professes a creed that is diametrically opposed to the values of the Republic of the United States into our military ranks."

Actually any Arabic speaking soldiers are going to be invaluable as translators and in Army intelligence. Wolfowitz was recently urging Iraqi-Americans to join up. I would be more concerned with "converts" than second generation Arab-Americans, Afghan-Americans, etc.
