Yes, he'll be court maritaled and charged with murder, mutiny and assault on a superior officer at time of war. All carry the death penalty in the UCMJ.
His defense will be either Allah commanded him to do it or He's nuts because he thinks Allah commanded him to do it.

Won't his trial be before a military tribunal?No, his trial will be by general court martial, in accordance with the Uniform Code of Military Justice, which is quite similar in many respects to a civilian court. He will have a defense counsel, and even a jury (if he so desires)...
