On the face of it, that favors this being a post-attack tape. OTOH, I suppose Saddam may have anticipated an attack at the expiry of the deadline, and pre-recorded the tape or rehearsed the speech. Very hard to see how he could have been carried off on stretcher with an oxygen mask and then made this recording a few hours later. Something's up.

I think the oxygen mask was there to hold the front half of his head to the back half of his head.
I suspect Saddam is the fourth for bridge with Osama, Adolph and Joseph!

That would explain him wearing glasses and reading it off a note pad.I haven't seen very many of his "defiant" speeches,but the ones I have seen he never wore glasses and read off a note pad.
