""So you are suggesting that the Constitution be amended then to remove the freedom of religion from it? ""

No, only that anyone employing force to "convert" new members or retain current members be charged and prosecuted with felonious assault , criminal intimidation , organized racketeering , and also murder, tax evasion and jaywalking if those apply.

And ANYONE who joins the military, is elected to public office or has other reason to swear or affirm his support of the Constitution , and then deliberately by act or omission , fails to support that Constitution , be punished to the full extent of the law. Anyone who is a member of a group which espouses its' belief that the Constitution and American form of government is evil, AND advocates or carries out violent acts against the Constitutional government likewise to be prosecuted .

This guy needs to be charged as a soldier trying to kill his officers in a combat zone. That is all there is to it. We should not pay any attention to anything but the heinous crime that this INDIVIDUAL committed and punish him to the fullest extent of the UCMJ. If I ever do anything dastardly, not that I am so inclined, I don't think it should reflect on all Catholics or whites in the Army. This guy needs to be tried and if he is found guilty, punished with all the speed and severity that is allowed.
