Since you're making equivalency arguments here, how many white christians in 10 wish to cause you harm?
Muslims whether black homegrown or otherwise are exponentially beyond calculation more likely to wish you harm than your average white or otherwise right wing American Christian.
I believe Islam is and has always been a religion of conquest and when dove tailed with black resentment of whites here in America it makes a nice little package that I'm not too comfortable with.
If you are not alarmed by this then fine. I see no good reason for them to be in our military right now engaging in this particular war. That is simply my opinion.
That said....Fox is the only one reporting on this. The other networks won't even touch on this...so it remains to be seen from my perspective whether this nutjob was NOI-like or another type of Muslim. The reports are also that he had been acting "strange".
I hope it is isolated.
You made excellent points. My son's best friend in high school was a Lebanese immigrant (Muslim). He is now serving in the Air Force. I can remember many nights of sitting around and talking with these two young men about life, commitment and responsibility, and I believe that this young man is a patriot who believes in this country.
Since 9/11, I wonder if anyone has questioned him and ascertained that his adopted country is important to him. I haven't seen him since then, and I don't know if I would ask him about his Muslim faith. As much as I respected him, I can't help but wonder if he has been checked out by the military he serves.
I want to believe that he would understand the need to question him about his allegiances. Even though I knew him well, I would want him to be questioned.
