These Liberal Party leftists are not astute politicians. Tony Blair is playing against type, and can only do so with the assistance of the Conservatives. The result is that Blair will leave the Conservatives little room to run a candidate against him. (Why vote Conservative if Blair delivers like a Liberal on social issues but confronts aggression with the resolve of Winston Churchill?) It is not very likely that unhappy Liberal Party members can depose Blair and win against a socially WMD. When the dust clears in Iraq and Saddam is gone, Blair's popularity in Britain will rise.

Sorry, that should read:

It is not very likely that unhappy Liberal Party members can depose Blair and win against a socially liberal candidate who stands firm against terrorism and the spread of WMD.
