Russia vows to block moves to legitimise Iraq war

MOSCOW, March 22 (Reuters) - Russia vowed on Saturday to block any future moves by the United States and its allies to secure U.N. approval for the military action in Iraq and the post-war power structures they might set up there.

"Attempts will undoubtedly be made in the U.N. Security Council to find ways which would help legitimise the military operations and the post-war (political) set-up in Iraq," Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov told a conference outside Moscow.

"We will follow this very carefully and we will not, of course, give legitimacy to this action in the Security Council," he said.

You know, Putin really does look like that little elf critter in the Harry Potter movies....

The Russins are really bitter about how they lost the cold war. This is just a little payback.

The UN is dead. The security council is dead. It is not by our actions.

France, Germany, and Russia killed the UN for all time by disengenuously pretending to pursue peace, when instead they used UN auspices to maintain status quo at all costs.

France, Germany, and Russia are the warmongers here. They abused the UN to hide their economic (and in some cases political) buddy, Saddam Hussein. They should hang their heads in shame and beg our forgiveness.
