Australian forces captured Iraqi soldiers and dropped the first Australian bomb of the campaign, Australian Defence Forces chief General Peter Cosgrove said in a briefing today.

Speakging to reporters in Canberra at 11am today, General Cosgrove confirmed Australia's SAS troops gave first aid to Iraqi soldiers injured in a skirmish in the opening stages of the war in the Gulf.

He said Australia's special forces had been involved in four battles since the war began and there had been no Australian casualties.

"A few days ago, when the operations started, our special forces had a brief skirmish and as a result of that there was some lightly wounded Iraqi military they encountered as they were passing though the area where the fire had occurred," General Cosgrove said.

"And they were able to give them first aid and send them in the right direction to receive better treatment, or more treatment, and to pass into captivity."

Or is it all the same to you? Pay attention, man.

As a matter of fact, terorists and their benefactors are one and the same, newbie.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

FYI: The Bali bombing was carried out by and Indonesian militant affiliated with Jemaah Islamiah. Or is it all the same to you? Pay attention, man.

What are you saying? We have all of these terror groups, many operating in multiple countries, and there are absolutely no connections between them? They are all committing terrorist acts in isolation? You must then find it a remarkable coincidence that they have all come up with similar ideas and have the same ultimate goals. I find your view a bit naive.

I was going to flame you, but ignorance is self-immolation, so I'll let you smoulder.
