The history professor Bob Buzzanco was very angry about this article. It appears that his "anti-war" rally didn't go as planned. Awwwwww. Poor Baby.

I'd like to take a crack at the folks spitting on our people in uniform...didn't we have enough of that in the 60s and 70s?
I don't care if people don't like the war--protest it if you want. But don't target troops who are only doing their jobs...
That just really pi**es me off.

Brantly later said that two "pro-U.S.A." students in uniform were spit on by angry demonstrators.

Gotta love them lovers of "PEACE".

Looks like professor Bozo's dog and pony show revealed his true agenda - anti-US, anti-Bush.

"The peace movement is a global movement, yet it is largely unreported in the mass media," Brennan said

The anti-war protest in Pittsburgh, Pa., yesterday evening was a bust, too. Only about 500 showed up, and over 100 were arrested for blocking streets, vandalizing cars and newspaper boxes and otherwise refusing to obey police directives to stay out of the street. The police let them do whatever they wanted for a long time before starting to make arrests, too.

Gee, that's a shame.

I don't know about the media in Houston, TX but in most of the USA, the "anti-war" rallies have gotten more media coverage than the Pro-American rallies, totally disproportionate to their support nationwide. Of course, he's in the delusional world that the 70% US support for war is part of a "vast right wing conspiracy".

The antiwars are NOT about PEACE ... they are about HATE! Their HATE for President Bush exceeds their interest in PEACE!

Cheyenne Bsaies, a creative writing junior, split from the main group, confronted the "pro-U.S.A." group and offered the microphone.

Note to prospective parents: If you name your daughter “Cheyenne” don’t complain when she grows up to be a dopey hippy, majoring in “creative writing.”

The "teach-in" was largely intended to promote the anti-war point of view through informative lectures, literature readings and personal stories. Several speakers noted the lack of "true" facts about the Iraq crisis being presented to the public.

Sounds more like it is a "re-education center" to indoctrinate more useful idiots and red dupes.

"The peace movement is a global movement, yet it is largely unreported in the mass media," Brennan said, citing commonly accepted facts such as the concept of no-fly zones and Iraqís rejecting inspectors in 1998 as "falsifications used to justify aggression."

Yes it is a global movement... of marxists, communists, socialists, anticapitalists, anarchist-socialists, etc. The same nuts that protest at the World Trade Organization meeting, burn down McDonalds in France, etc. I fail to see how he can claim that the protestors have not gotten media coverage. Some of them claimed to oppose Clinton's wars as well but none of those protests (if they held any) got any press. This protest movement has gotten legs from a complicant media because of the (R) after the name of the man elected to the White House.

The media has been silent on the political nature of those who organize and FUND the protest rallies. The media has spun it as a grass roots effort of concerned citizens around the world. It is not. Also it is not a peace movement as they support the Palestinian war movement and even support the use of suicide bombers.

The "peace" movement said that there was no proof that Saddam was stockpiling banned weaponry. They doesn't know where those Scuds could have come from...

He should spend more time in class.

Bob Buzzanco, a UH history professor and one of the architects of the rally,
intervened shortly afterward. Buzzanco took the microphone and said,
"They can share their views, fine, but they have their ABC, NBC and CNN,
they can do it there," alluding to criticism of the media for not covering
the anti-war perspective
.

In-freakin'-credible.
A guy with this warped a view of reality is actually on the faculty of a major
university, purportedly teaching students about the past.
Heck, he can't even deal with the here and now.

I almost didn't believe he could be a faculty member, but he is listed at:

I wonder how many of these "anti-war" (anti-Bush, anti-America) people are doing this because they think it's "cool" and don't even realize they're being led around by the nose by the Communist Party?

Wake up, sheeple!

Brantly later said that two "pro-U.S.A." students in uniform were spit on by angry demonstrators. "They were just angry at them, spitting, cussing, all of that," Brantly said.

This country started down the road to Hell the day they outlawed dueling. Bringing back dueling would do more for upgrading the public demeanor in this country than anything else I can think of.

There is some sanity on college campuses out there. Here's what one college kid (my daughter) e-mailed me after hearing about how well our troops are doing in Iraq:

"The troops have been in my prayers for a while now... I am really proud of our country!! It is awesome!! And we do so much good for even the citizens of Iraq!! It is great to hear about."

Gotta love that kid!

I'm beginning to agree with Rush on how to handle these clowns; use laughter. That's right. Just stand there pointing your finger at them and laugh long and hard every time they spew forth their anti-American rhetoric and bilge.

They want to act like a silly child, then treat them like a silly child and laugh at them. Hahahahahahahahahahaha....

"...The peace movement is a global movement..."

I don't buy that at all. If he really believes that, then I can say, 'So is The International Trafficking of Women and Children'.Some people are for it ( The Traffickers)and most people aren't."The Peace Movement" does not exist except as an inane comfortable phrase to be used in public moments such as these.LOL
