There was a previous incident involving Ranch Rescue at the Sutton Ranch that set this situation up.

A group of aliens were detained and then sent on their way without shoes. Sutton gathered up the shoes and took them to the local border patrol office.

I don't know who told you that one, but it is PURE B.S. We do not take shoes or clothing from those we detain. The only item we would confiscate is a weapon.
