Funny how they accuse Americans of wanting to push themselves into other countries business and here are the Canadians obsessing about how America should be run. These nations obsessed with envy and wanting to bring us down to build themselves up and for us to be shameful to be Americans are really showing themselves. This kind of poll is reason enough to elect Bush again. And, yes, Chretien is the moron of all morons.

This explains why these cheese-dicks elected Cretian

Anything about America is always big news in Canada and these polls are all over the map, depending on the question. If the U.S. catches the sniffles, Canada gets cancer. the Globe is a liberal mouthpeice, much like the NY Times and such polls tend to reflect a liberal point of view. For example, a recent poll in the National Post, the conservative organ, showed 76% of respondees supporting Bush and against Chretiens decision not to participate.
As the coalition forces continue to make outstanding progress and we see little collateral damage to Iraq and it's citizens, public opinion continues to shift in support.
Western Canada and it's upstart political movement, the Canadian Alliance are steadfastly in support of the disarming of Iraq and the coalition, while the Eastern Liberals are backpeddaling like mad as we speak. The difference between English-Canadians and Americans is very minor while the Separatistes in Quebec will use any means to discredit us, and America if neccessary to advance their separariste agenda. The war on terrorism and the new reality is going to clean up a lot of unfinished business in a lot of different places. In the U.S. here and around the world, a good thing. The Conservative movement is prevailing and the liberals are sore afraid. Do not confuse what is going on as nationalistic, it is a cultural clash which ignores geopolitical boundaries.
Canada has been under the yoke of liberalism for 40 years and by pandering to Quebec has successfully thwarted the alienation of French-Canada. It would appear that such appeasement is fast becoming unworkable and we will have to let Quebec make it's own decisions. This could well mean a reshaping of Canada and the addition of new members to the union. Remember both Canada and the U.S are still young countries and who is to say that the current status quo is intended to remain for all time. My grand parents immigrated to Alberta from the States and one of my sons live in New Jersey and my Grandkids are Yankee Doodle Dandies and I am far from alone in this regard.

So, I can assume this newspaper is located in liberal-country, right? I know if I hadn't been lurking now and then on the Free Dominion website you told me about, I would be one mad American right now. Because, like most Americans, I've just about had my fill of dodging potshots from Canada's and France's feel-gooders. But, thanks to Free Dominion, I know there's many Canadians who disagree with the liberal mouthpieces we always hear.
Even so . . . it just bothers the hell out of me that a Canadian newspaper would have the gall to take a poll about OUR PRESIDENT! Especially during the troubled times we're experiencing between our countries.
Damned if I know what to do about it though. I just wanted your take on things so I could get a REAL feel for things.
Thanks

It's not just Florida. They come down to the Palm Springs area in droves every Winter. They even have a Canadian Club for socializing with each other. You see their Canadian auto license plates everywhere. If it wasn't for us, they would be freezing their butts off and ice fishing for food.
Most Canadians live in a few metorpolitan areas. Their commerce is US-centric. We defend them. We entertain them. We provide much of their food. AND, WE PROVIDE THEM WITH ESSENTIAL MEDICAL CARE when their socialized medical system fails to meet their needs.
Nice folks. I just wouldn't want to depend upon them for much of anything. Their Prime Minister is an a-hole, but so what, that is their problem, and they seem incapable of resolving even that small matter.

I travel to Regina, Calgary and Toronto on business several times each year. Few folks in the States could find these cities on a map without some help.

bump!;) lets see if we can get it to 30%
To: quidnunc
Please don't freep the poll. It would be more insulting if it came out in GW's favor.

It galls me too because it is irrelevant. However liberals are always dependant upon polls in order to form their opinions while us consevatves use own own good judgement and common sense. Also I am so happy to hear you are a member of Free Dominion because we need your help . Thank you.

Sorry Canada, but Dubya is ours. After another 4 year term down here, maybe he'll consider your offer and come up there and straighten out your sorry socialist government...
I only WISH......unfortunately we are stuck with whatever Ontario and Quebec elect. The rest of Canada would love a regime change i.e. Canadian Alliance. By the way, most of the press in Canada are left leaning (just like yours), thus the oddball polls.

Just how the hell do Canadians think they have any business telling Americans who they should elect as president? Well, Peter Jennings has been telling us for years.

Just how the hell do Canadians think they have any business telling Americans who they should elect as president?HAH! Canada, home of inept border guards - it was the US that caught Rassam - THEY let him through - and also breeding ground of muslim fanatics. And the airport in Vancouver stinks compared to SeaTac, and they were charging an extra 20 bucks to use it a few years back because they were remodeling.

Gosh...I wonder what the Camaroonians think.
We should be deeply concerned with the opinions of all such powerful nations.
To: quidnunc
Why even bother to poll the Canadians? I'm sure that we'll get the antiAmerican Canadian perspective from Peter (not an American, 20 years and counting) Jennings soon enough.
