That one got me chuckling. People have had more fun with that picture than any other one in recent memory.

One thing that would really scare KIM is that we don't use up all the bombs and come his way with the balance and a suggestion that he buy a home in China.

Las night I predicted large scale surrenders today. Overly optimistic, I guess. Now it looks like we'll be entering Bahgdad about the time of the Academy Award show. ;^)

"The old lefties in America are running on Viagra, prune juice and stale rhetoric left over from the Vietnam War. They're joined in the streets by out-of-work actors, smug preachers with empty pews and a few sophomores who have heard all the war stories and yearn to live in that imagined romantic past, like Civil War re-enactors fantasizing about Chancellorsville."

Wow.

"Tom Daschle, Robert Byrd and Nancy Pelosi are left to wallow in the squalor of their own angry juices"...
...to mention only a few.

It's difficult to know who of their ilk are scoundrels and who are fools, but the results of their actions are the same.

The Devil's Cheerleaders, wallowing in their squalid, angry juices, spew hate and venom across the world...

Meanwhile George W. Bush leads the world to peace, prosperity, liberty, and justice.

Pruden's right. The success of President Bush in bringing peace, prosperity, liberty, and justice to the world is the greatest nightmare of these evil scoundrels and misguided fools, who call themselves, in orwellian paradox, "liberals".

If these people managed to succeed with their plans, The Road to Hell would be well-paved indeed.

Mr. Chirac doesn't want to contribute to the success of English-speaking allies in any way, but France must have a piece of the spoils. This is hardly the offer George W. can't refuse; the president and his men are still trying to decide which is worse, French assistance or anthrax.

A must read *bump*

That Dashle's a piece of work, isn't he? After the next election maybe he could get some gigs as a stand-up comedian. He might want to team up with the Dixie Chicks.

Let's not get too hasty here. It ain't over till it's over. The way I've read it, Hussein's probably got about a hard core of maybe 15,000 loyal, disciplined soldiers who would be willing to fight to the death, if ordered. Or, maybe more importantly, if there is no remaining command structure ordering them to surrender. And I'll always give a soldier, his commander, and his peers their due as a cohesive fighting unit. Certainly, badly equipped, hopelessly outmanned, but just because a soldier isn't American doesn't mean he's got no sense of duty, esprit, courage, and integrity. They may have to be annihilated.

And until I'm convinced that we as a Nation have the resolve to annihilate those units in their entirety, I'm still concerned.

Please don't interpret this as criticism of the President or the Chain of Command, or certainly our Armed Forces. And we may not have to annihilate the Iraqis...but if the delay in "shock and awe" is interpreted by our enemy as a lack of national resolve, (and in conjuntion with our disgraceful protesters, I think it may well be viewed that way) we might make it more likely to actually have to go through with it. And if Saddam's Iraq has any chance of surviving, it will be because of our aversion, and their willingness, to accept their own massive casualties; even more than their ability to inflict casualties upon our forces.

I agree... can't get over-confident... And I am concerned as well that we may be accepting some risk by delaying "shock and awe" in order to give the Republican Guards or Special Republican Guards time to concede and surrender. I'm sort of hoping that at least a modified version of "shock and awe" will be arriving in about 90 minutes via those B1 bombers that left the UK hours ago. That should push the reluctant Republican Guard leaders over the edge.

As far as those "15,000 loyal, disciplined soldiers" -- they are a problem... They are probably more afraid of a freed Iraqi populace than they are of the US "shock and awe" force. But I wouldn't assume they'll be great street-fighters. They have been essentially a personal security force for the crazy Saddam. They "managed" (through intimidation, rape, threats and torture) the regular soldiers who did most of the heavy lifting to protect Saddam. I would expect those "regular soldiers" are the ones Rummy is appealing to and are said to be on the verge of surrendering... That means the "senior leaders" are going to have to do the heavy lifting: I think and hope they'll be sitting ducks and among the few in the area when "Shock and Awe" is delivered, sealed with a GW kiss!

good article...I was thinking the exact same thing this morning...But let's be careful to not get too excited, it ain't over yet. We knew the outskirts would be a cakewalk. But yes, Dasshole and Co. are very upset that death has been held to a minimum, the media seems disappointed that we have not had a great fireworks show, ironic, huh? And the "peace " crowd has been deemed a greater threat than the terrorists here in America.

If the peace in Iraq comes as fast as it appears it could, the entire left-wing will be put in their place, and Hollywood can kiss my ass forever!

"Put in their place" will last about three months. During that time, trial balloons will be launched at DU, and the least insane ones then tried on focus groups. Remember, 911 was supposed to "put them in their place", too.

Their response will be the same this time. Act as if the event never happened, and then claim that they could have "done it better". Also emphasize that they stood "shoulder to shoulder" with Bush, providing the vital support needed to assure victory.

The only real decision will be whether Hitlery feels the vote-theft machinery is in good enough shape for 2004, or should she have some expendable flunkie in 2004 run against Bush.

"This is a MUST, MUST Read!"

Indeed it is, A-M; thank you for the heads-up!!
Here's what especially got me choking on my coffee...

"The New York Times, which has crusaded against disarming Saddam for months, all but conceded yesterday: 'If things go as well as we hope ("we"???), even those who sharply disagree ("those"???) with the logic behind this war are likely to end up feeling reassured, almost against their will, by the successful projection of American power."

HA!!!

...is that some *supreme* chutzpah, or what.

Yes. To paraphrase one of their own, "Being liberal means never having to say you're sorry." Or wrong.

I am certain they would be absolutely no match for our forces whatsoever. I am NOT certain our forces would be given the opportunity to use either an overwhelming, decisive "attrition" force or a blitzkrieg/shock and awe, rapid capitulation strategy. I'm afraid the bait of a tantalizingly attractive, easy, low-casualty, but less than total "victory", outcome may prove irresistible; with subsequent prolonged negotiations falling into an Iraqi (Saddam or his successor) political trap, where nothing really changes. Where ultimately, we're faced with accepting a "Regime" change in name only, and no certainty of the elimination of WMD and support for terrorism. Just "back in their box" again, with new rounds of threatened sanctions, etc. See: "Highway of Death, 1991".

I don't know about that. The B-52's took off from England this morning.

That is a lot of "shock and awe"

The crowds of demonstrators against the war are thinning, even in the Peoples Republic of San Francisco, where some of the demonstrators induced vomiting yesterday

Er, methinks the author should have been clearer on the point that the demonstrators were causing themselves, not spectators, to vomit.
