Senators yesterday put aside their disagreements over the invasion of Iraq to praise, unanimously, President Bush and the 250,000 U.S. troops carrying out his war plans in the Persian Gulf region.

The Senate voted 99 to 0 for a congressional resolution that "commends and supports the efforts and leadership of the President, as Commander in Chief, in the conflict against Iraq." The resolution effusively praised the armed forces "who are participating in the military operations in the Persian Gulf region, for their professional excellence, dedicated patriotism and exemplary bravery."

It also expressed "sincere gratitude to British Prime Minister Tony Blair and his government for their courageous support." Blair has stood by Bush despite substantial opposition from the British public and his own political party, contributing more troops to the U.S.-led effort than any other nation.

Gee. Ain't that nice.

They probably just learned that Saddam is dead already, and want on the bandwagon.

She's a congresswoman. There's no way Texas would ever elect her in a state-wide race.

Was 'Absent Edwards' the only vote not cast? I think even Joe Biden made it in for this vote, with stitches still in his side!

"Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) fought into the late evening to tone down support for Bush and delete other passages opposed by antiwar activists..."

Nancy "Traitor" Pelosi should be tried for treason...

She should no longer be considered a part of our Great Country, but be deported to Iraq: to sleep with her good friend Saddam.

While flipping through the channels a few hours ago I saw Maxi(ne) Pad on C-SPAN, wailing and moaning in her forever-pout that the Republicans made this war partisan! Mind boggling. No mention of Little Daschle.
