Let me guess, you're not Army?
It's the Army's main attack helicopter. Two-man crew.
Welcome to FR.

They're REALLY behind on this one;
Koppel with the Third ID HOURS ago said it was "Shot down" just beyond the border due to ground fire, but US ground forces set a perimeter around it and the crew repaired it an flew it away, so not much of a shootdown.
And another network said it simply landed as a precaution due to mechanical trouble, and wasn't hit at all.
Of course, the MSNBC taking head turned into pantswetting nervous Nelly and asked some ex-Special Forces guy if these two shoot-downs of helicopters were "disheartening."

Is that one of our planes or helicopters? It is a helicopter. It makes alot more noise than a radio or TV heliocopter (for traffic reporting).
There was an earlier report of a Pave-Low going down, and then being destroyed by a Navy jet.
The Pave-Low is a very specialized heliocopter. The Apache is meant as a "ground support" (i.e. fires lots of bullets and rockets) heliocopter.
The Blackhawk is meant as a "troop transport" heliocopter but has guns to support the loading and offloading of troops.

I love people whose main job in life is to CUT-DOWN others with their claims of NEVER had made a mistake in their lives.

Just heard on the radio that it landed due to mechanical problems. Crew rescued and that the Apache may be destroyed to prevent it falling into Iraqi hands.

It was a question. Notice the question mark (?). If you think it was a cut down you have some real issues.

This is a Pave Low. Smarter to destroy one than let it fall
into enemy hands. Very sensitve technology there.
