The curtain is coming down on Saddam, but back in Hollywood the show will go on. So will March Madness. Organizers of the Academy Award ceremonies and the annual college basketball tournament report that both events will proceed as scheduled. Bravo, we say. Our boys abroad wouldn't have it any other way; the fight to liberate Iraqis is also a fight to preserve domestic freedoms, which include the freedom to work and play without fear of a bomb going off.

The best way to hurt these anti-American traitors is to NOT WATCH, which will lower their ratings and show that we don't want to hear their garbage!!!!!

Stephen Daldry, who's nominated as best director for "The Hours," told a British newspaper that he would use his victory speech to denounce the war. That is, he's trying to buy votes by sucking up to the political prejudices of the Academy.

Why would those that hate America hate hollywood? What would these people have to fear? Are they saying that we have an irrational enemy?

Too late for him, as votes are already cast, but Julia Roberts helped herself win an Oscar a couple of years ago by denouncing President Bush right before Oscar votes were cast. Robert Altman tried the same tactic last year.

The fatuous entertainers are compelled by their own sense of irrelevance to make these pronouncements. In other words, actors know they don't do real work. As men, what they do for a living is simply silly and not men's work. They "make believe" in front of a camera, their careers are no more than "let's pretend." This is the truth, and it stings, so they make efforts to distract and compensate by donning poses of political activism.
Find a way to remind them, frequently (because they aren't very bright) that they are just puffball digital images here for our brief amusement. That hurts more than any boycott can.

No Barbara Walters pre-Oscar chats with Nicholas, Julianne and Renee. The proverbial silver lining.
Seriously, I say ABC is better off showing the nominated shorts before the show instead of her suckups.

This is what Entertainment News quotes the producer of the show as saying about having the red carpet pulled out from under the "stars" fans:
According to Cates, so many stars had called asking to come in through a back entrance in order to avoid the press that ''it started to be silly to have it when theyre all uncomfortable anyway.''

We're not going to watch that sucker!
Who needs more anti-american propaganda.

Sorry, Hollywood. I'll be watching the Iraq coverage. Our troops matter, you don't.

What time does this start? Sounds like a good time for GW to address the nation.

Let's try to keep a sense of proportion. After all Ronald Reagan was very much part of Hollywood.
