Perceptive theory that is reiterated here:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/869886/posts

"The U.S. targeted the leaders after engineering reports yesterday that Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Tariq Aziz had defected, Sky News reported, citing unidentified officials. The reports prompted Aziz to go on live television yesterday to prove his loyalty, allowing the U.S. to track the source of the transmission and follow Aziz's movements, Sky reported."

Just heard a radio news report that they think it was a double on tape of Saddam's speach, still a possibility that they may have hit him.

Behind the curtains, the mischief-makers, the arrogant scribes in the mainstream international media share a PC and unreal view of the world. The world is thus misinformed - and we will all suffer the hysteria of those holding the mighty pens as long as a Republican leads our nation.

Thank you, Michael for seeing through the 24/7 barrage of propaganda. Here's to the increasing irrelevance of the mainstream media and their center of socialist, anti-Israeli, anti-American operations - the UN.

Hi Michael,

first, thanks for your kind words!!

Earlier this morning, the reports were not so "unbiased", maybe it is a bit different now (no feeds at work!!).

Just a "opinion" question:

How would you translate "die Krieg führende Partien" ?
a. the waring parties, or
b. the parties leading the war

Thanks for the article. It´s disappointing that France is so silly. It´s all against the US in France (and in parts in Germany, too). The difference to my country is, that in France there´s no opposition calling for US-support. In Germany, we have hope. In France, all hope´s gone.

If I'm not mistaken, Sky News is reporting an upcoming live speech by Saddam. This should prove interesting.

I really believe the US is not tipping any thing off in this conflict and going to great lengths to do that. This is why the media was caught so off guard last night. Think about it, what a great tactic, tell the enemy you are going to hammer the hell out of them. In turn they hunker down, hence, easy target. So far we are waging this perfectly IMHO.
God Bless our Troops

I´d choose b. But I´d translate it "the parties paricipating at the war".

Saddam´s message was commented very critical and the attack on Kuwait by Iraq are helpful for the US-supporters.

Good theory . . . Certainly possible!

I know the press is reporting that this was all about a target of opporutnity, and that the war should have started with "shock and awe." However, I highly doubt that the Pentagon would announce its tactical plan with such openness. More likely it was disinformation for the purpose of tactical surprise.

Gotta admit; they fooled me. I turned off the computer about 10 minutes before the air-raid sirens went off; and was actually watching the History Channel. I only caught it because I HATE commercials.

Personally, I think that the UN are very important - but of course they´re not doing what they should do. The UN are not a neutral world government protecting freedom and human rights but a group of sovereign nations following their own interests. That´s not the problem. The problem is, that the Left has too high expectatins on the UN... they think of the UN as the first described.

Thanks for your reply on the meaning.

I know it's "splitting hairs", but the parties participating is closer to a) as that means all parties, whereas b) means the ones attacking.

I ask this because of the official statement from Berlin. Maybe I am too thin skinned lately when it comes to the European Media, but I felt that this was directed more to the US/UK & Co.

What's your take?
