They have brought it up twice, even mentioned the number of the divisions. Sorry for not catching the #'s
I'll keep posting if they bring it up a third time.

Al Jazeera says Saddam will address the people later today? OK, how, by smoke signals?
To: Professional
How many troops is this?
To: Professional
They just said that represents 2/3's of the forces in the south of Iraq.

Maybe they're negotiating on a thread on FR. Couldn't be much different than some of the flame wars I've seen. ;-)

A division is, usually, 10,000 - 15,000 soldiers

I believe it's the 51st Mechanized and 11th Infantry divisions around Basra.

I think that was it. I guess this southern side is of an ethnic origin that isn't particularly loyal to Saddam.

Fox just reported that Saddam will address his nation shortly...it is OVER! Talk about a short war!
To: Professional
Also talk tonight that there are people literally waiting for approval to surrender up north.

Hopefully by "wee gee" board.

This hardly indicates the war is over. I suspect Saddam is going to be very defiant.

Well if those bunker busters did what I think they did, they may need a ouija board to get anything from Saddam;)
To: Professional
Maybe not...it is now stating they are defiant!
