Not entirely accurate. I believe Cornyn expressed support for banning "assault weapons" during his campaign.

I believe that you are incorrect. Cornyn never really said much about guns, just the usual RINO response of "I support the 2nd Amendment" with no specifics. I, and a bunch of other people on The Firing Line (now defunct, but most of the subscribers went to The High Road) tried to get Cornyn or his staff to pledge to work against a renewal - to no avail. His campaign also mentioned something about crime not being caused by equipment owned by law-abiding citizens, but that is so wishy-washy that it made me want to puke.

I believe that he did something rather anti- when he was the Texas AG, but that particular incident occurred before I escaped from the Peoples Republic of New Jersey with all of my "illegal" "high capacity" magazines, so I couldn't fairly comment on this.

Cornyn has his finger in the wind, waiting to see which direction it blows. However, he had BETTER vote against any renewal of any part of this illegal law, let alone any expansion or permanent extension, or he AND EVERY OTHER REPUBLICAN will have lost my vote, FOREVER! THAT'S RIGHT - ALL REPUBLICANS! I will be watching his votes in committee and on the floor VERY closely. Same for Kaye Bailey.
