HE was certainly humbled when he provided the commentary for John Glenn's space flight a couple of years ago. A third grader would have done a better job and certainly spoken with more clarity than did Cronkite.

Cronkite began by discussing one of his journalistic high points, reviewing the D-Day invasion with President Eisenhower in Normandy.

I'm surprised he didnt tip off Hitler after his meeting.

In response to a question about media bias, Cronkite said the press is not politically partisan but does tilt toward liberalism. He said that the smartest president he ever met was Jimmy Carter.
