I was a residential telephone installer in the late 70's. Not long after the song (telephone man) was out. There were a lot of lonely women who didn't work. You had to be artistic at turning them down or they would report that you came on to them. I don't think it's work related. I think some peolpe are born cheaters while other must learn.

I hung wallpaper for most of the eighties, I know what you mean. It would amaze me sometimes, who would do what.

And you are right about being careful not to make them feel scorned.
