I (and probably half the country) will take that wager, assuming by "kidnapping" we can agree we mean that he used force to remove her from the bedroom. Don't know how it'll be proven, but I suspect, that now that the pressure is on, the little sister will crack under intense questioning by LE, and say that Elizabeth told her to spin that yarn about an intruder brandishing a weapon.

Well, now. I can really only speak for myself in saying that I was glad not to have my bubble popped about my original perception of Elizabeth's virtuous nature. And I am very glad she is alive.
But I am certainly not glad that she went through what she did.
ah...now there's the rub.....
I personally believe that on the night of the kidnapping that there was some evidence that made Ed believe that this was a polygmist type of abduction....by his and his family's words, by his actions, by the partial description of the perp....
I think some info was kept from the public and maybe even the cops....
I think that was done to protect certain interests...
I think if the public and the cops knew more than ES would have been found sooner....
I think like maybe even THAT day....you know that one of the aunts actually saw Mitchell on the day of the kidnapping don't you?
I can not stand the thought of raking this girl over the coals again....even if some fly-by_night movie company attempts to make a film about this, they at least will not have access to ES....

after Mitchell abducted Smart from her bedroom, the teenager, dressed in her pajamas, was "compelled at knifepoint" to walk four miles up a mountain trail to a "concealed campsite." There, Barzee directed Smart to remove her pajamas. When the teenager balked, Barzee "threatened to have Mitchell forcibly remove" the child's clothing. Barzee then aided Mitchell in the sexual assault of Smart."If this is shown to have been the case, and I believe it will be so shown, then both of these animals need to be executed IMHO. Sorry, but they can plead their case on the other side of Jordan somewhere ... probbaly sonewhere way far to the south. I know Utah will not hand out such a penalty, but it is what is deserved, and it is how society cures itself of this particular malady IMHO ... I do not believe you can rehabilitate such an one ... I am not willing to risk my own on the chance put forth by those who say you can. I also would not want my own tax monies going to the upkeep of such vermon.
Some of the other posters who have been trying to somehow blame the girl need to read this and offer up their apologies IMHO. They sexually assaulted her (and in my book, irrespective of the legal wrangling, that's rape) and they threatened to kill her family if she didn't do as they said.
They are rabid animals that need the same kind of healing any other rabid animal gets.

Sort of sheltered ---but not very if they actually brought this pedophile child rapist to their home where he met her. I'm not sure if that's how he met her but from the stories it was.
Understand ... I am not out for vengence or pure retribution. Just the stone cold reality that sick people like this will strike again if given the opportunity and that others, yet to strike, need to see what the absolute and final consequences of those actions will be. Society, whiile having pity on, and hoping for their eternal souls, must protect and defend itself just like any individual. Would to God that Elizabeth had been trained in the use of and had close at hand a .44 Magnum that night.
If people like this repent before God before the consequences befall them, that is fine, it will serve them well at the judgement bar of Christ.

Will they be kept locked up forever? He at least should already have been locked up ---they both need the death penalty ---what purpose is there in keeping these maggots alive?
