Yes. I hope the prosecution does not force Elizabeth to testify to every detail of what happened to her. That is probably why the simple "sexual assault" charge is being made, rather than a rape charge. A rape charge would require Elizabeth to testify in court to every detail of that act. The sexual assault charge is simpler for her. Just his forcible removal of her clothing, as described by the DA is enough...that's all she must testify to, since that constitutes sexual assault.

I have no doubt this is the reason for not filing a rape charge, and is what I would do were I the District Attorney. Indeed, the kidnapping charge is enough for a life sentence, but the sexual assault charge will help in getting that life sentence.
