President Saddam Hussein stressed that Iraqis would defend their country by all available means so as to maintain its independence. The President impressed on real US motives of targetting Iraq that is rich in its oil and natural resources.
He also commented on Chiles delegate in the UN when she asked to specify several weeks as a limited time to Iraq to achieve disarming weapons of mass destruction. The President criticized the Chilean proposal and inquired how can the weapons be destroyed with limited time.
The Chilean officials either do not understand the case or they mean to perturb the public opinion when they hear that there still weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, President Hussein said.
The President criticised the US sponsoring to the Zionist entity and increasing their weaponry.
At the time the US destroys other states weapons, they increase producing their weaponry what is happening in the Zionist entity, President added.
This has come during President Husseins meetings with commanders of military units.
Present at the audience were member of Iraqs Command of the Arab Bath Socialist Party (ABSP), Supervisor of the Republican Guards Qusay Saddam Hussein and Defence Minister Gen. Sultan Hashim Ahmed.
The President elaborated that Iraq had agreed UN inspection teams come back to Iraq just to unveil the US and British lies that Iraq had produced weapons of mass destruction in the post 1998 era or it had withheld them. The inspectors have come to find nothing, the President commented.
The attendants pledged the President to be faithful soldiers to defend their country and maintain its independence and sovereignty.
The meeting discussed the armed forces preparations to thwart the hostile schemes.
