The United States is sending anti-terrorism messages to large, young audiences in the Arab world, including Iraq, through Voice of America's Radio Sawa and plans to launch a television network throughout the Middle East.

I am happy to hear this. This is more important, than many people realize. The young Arabs are being brainwashed by the Mullahs and their government and don't hear anything, except the "hate America" message.
This will have an impact.
Radio Free Europe and Voice of America beamed at East Europe had a large audience in East Europe, even though the communists tried to jam it.

This is indeed wonderful. I remember that directly after 9/11 Safire did a series of pieces about VOA in which he documented how badly it had fallen into disrepair under Clinton. It actually was giving time to the terrorist's point of view. Safire stressed how crucial it is to get our message directly out to the ME peoples. Looks like the Bush administration was listening. Good things happen when responsible adults are in charge.
