"Expound on that a bit more please"

I don't think that for example, that the US keeping 60,000 odd troops on ships off the coast of Turkey....for the purpose of stopping a Turkish incursion into N. Iraq......would be sufficient.

Turkey is capable of moving a much larger force into the theatre. You'd have to back-up the 60,000 troops with overwhelming air-power.....and more GI's. The Turks aren't Iraqi's.....they'd be tougher, for certain.

I think its best for the US that this scenerio doesn't play-out. It would force a quick subduing of Iraq, and a turn of significant force to the north....to meet the Turks.

The Turks may be dumb, but they aren't stupid.

Why is this part of the world begging to be destroyed?
