JEREMY GAINES NAMED VICE PRESIDENT, COMMUNICATIONS FOR MSNBC
Published: March 13, 2003SECAUCUS, N.J. -- March 13, 2003 -- Jeremy Gaines has been named Vice President, Communications for MSNBC, overseeing all corporate communications and programming publicity, it was announced today by Erik Sorenson, President, MSNBC.
"Jeremy has been an instrumental part of MSNBC's growth for the past several years," said Sorenson. "As we continue to achieve growth, his communications expertise, and fully integrated knowledge of MSNBC's development, is perfectly suited to help guide the overall strategic direction of the network."
Gaines has worked at MSNBC for nearly five years. Prior to his appointment to Vice President, Communications, Gaines served as Director of Strategic Development for the network, in which he collaborated with the ad sales team for NBC News and NBC Cable to develop overall business strategies. In this position, Gaines also worked on bringing new talent to the network and program development.
Gaines began working for MSNBC in 1998 as associate producer for "THE NEWS WITH BRIAN WILLIAMS."
Prior to joining MSNBC, Gaines was Assistant Press Secretary for the Clinton/Gore campaign and presidential transition team in 1992. Following President Clinton's inauguration, Gaines served as an Aide in The White House press office, where he managed the activities of The White House press pool and staffed The White House press corps on all presidential trips. Gaines was later promoted to Deputy Director of Press Advance for The White House, where he was responsible for managing the coordination of press coverage of President Clinton's events and trips.
Gaines graduated from Carlton College in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in political science. He resides in New York City.

MSDNC indeed. Enjoy last place, guys, cause you're not going ANYWHERE as long as you continue crap like this!
The really funny thing is he's apparently been doing this job for several years, and has been a complete failure at it! Would YOU want it known on your resume that you're the guy that helped hire every on-air personality fired in the last five years, that helped create every program MSNBC has had to cancel in the last five years because nobody watches them?
They are SO screwed up there. The hell with Iraq; the State Department should issue a warning for Americans in Secaucus to evacuate immediately!

Besides which, I'm suspicious of anyone whose parents named him Jeremy. (Jeremy Fisher excluded.)

and ya still think Hillary is NOT runnin' in 04 ? If she is, she's setting herself up for a big fall. You can't swing voters your way by taking over a news network that gets lower ratings than the gold prospecting marathons on The Outdoor Channel.

Erickson was brought to MSNBC from CBS where from 91-95 he presided over the fall of CBS Evening News. You don't go anywhere in CBS without having strong Democrat credentials. With this new addition of a Clinton politico the move to ensure a little more political balance at MSNBC has probaby been nipped in the bud.
