Can someone tell me how to address a post to "all" as I've seen done here on occasion. I'm still a newbie.

And I'm wondering why no one ever responds to my comments. I can't be that ignorant or dumb.

Or...... maybe I can. *sigh*

what bothers me is you neglected to read the linked article below by one of my fsvorite conservative Americans - how Rumsfled is pretty much hated in the Pentagon...or is that a false story too?

The UN ploy was useful. First, it was only used to build up the troops to sufficient levels. And second, it has shown the world (but most importantly, U.S. citizens) just how useless the UN is. Now the U.S. can pull out of the UN and then kick their worthless a$$es out of the U.S. for good. Once the war starts all this foot dragging will be forgotten, a non-issue. Once again, the President was masterful, using the UN and then discarding it, like a cheap French whore. Kind of reminds one of Bill Clinton.

Yes, most have heard about them. But not in the past few days.

Don't worry about not being responded to. Many of us get ignored....Don't worry, sometimes you'll wish they didn't respond.....LOL.....

One wonders what Clinton, or Gore, would have done after 9/11.

I'd hate to think of the liberal left, with all their agendas and general diregard for national defense and national security, what they might have done.

I think we are fortunate to have Bush now, and his cabinet.... even with some friction here and there.

The war on terrorism ALONG with the war on Iraq has to have some bumps in the road. I think Bush has done a masterful job.

my primary concern is his foreign policy, which from our point of view has been exemplary. Fair enough?

The execution of said foreign policy has neither been exemplary nor has its execution.

In this way maybe Blair is Churchillian (as much as it pains me to call a Labourite after that great Torie).

Winston had his heart and mind in the right place (pun also intended) but his strategic executions were great failures. Gallipoli was his idea and it was a huge failure and he thought Italy was the soft underbelly of Nazi Europe and it was not. Both of Winston's failures delayed the ends of both World Wars.

I've read articles like that before. There are certainly a lot of folks in the Pentagon whose toes Rumsfeld has stepped on. I don't doubt that a lot of them complain to the press about it. Rummy's job is to reform the military. He is in my mind the perfect man for the job, and if some of the brass don't like it, too bad. Rumsfeld was voted one of the 10 toughest bosses in the US when he was in civilian life, so I'm not surprised that some people are going to complain.

Sorry to hear that Robert Novak is one of your favorite "conservative" American authors. He has always been totally pro-Arab, and an appologist for Arafat and the Saudis. I put little credence in what he has to say.

That's 20% over the 50 - 60% that already felt the the UN wasn't functional.

One wonders what Clinton, or Gore, would have done after 9/11.

They would use 9/11 to continue to deplete the military and not replenish it and continue to social engineer it.

The genisis of the pentagon/military reaction to Rumsfield is that he has a tendency to micromanage things. I'm not sure that's still true though..... just too much going on.
