This is a slam piece and nothing else. It does not attempt to give both sides of the brawl, it uses accusations that the kid (minor) was assaulted by an adult for not standing up during a song. Was he making any comments? I know that a music columnist for the Houston Press recently wrote how he was disgusted to hear this song at the rodeo.
I raided one of them just as the night's entertainment began -- not with George Strait but with, horror of horrors, Lee Greenwood, who struck up the band for his jingoistic ditty "God Bless the U.S.A." The JumboTrons flashed images of U.S. warplanes and the space shuttle rocketing through the sky. After this little orgy of patriotism, I half expected a Blackhawk chopper to swoop down and whisk Greenwood back to wherever it is the Man keeps him on ice, but then I looked up and saw that the roof was closed.[ snip ]
Meanwhile, Strait's band had launched into "Deep in the Heart of Texas." (Now there's a patriotic anthem Racket approves of )
Fights at the rodeo are nothing new and not always political. Go see Hank Williams Jr. at the rodeo and watch the brawls (much more than 2 people). Whole sections get involved and it doesn't make the news.
You got that right. There's still so much uncertainty about what Saddam will do:
The left does not focus on what Saddam has done or will do. I'm just surprised that the left has not suggested that we "censure" Saddam and "move on"...
Your original comment:
Im a little tired of people coming here to leech our country dry and raising their children to be the same type of parasites.
Your comment speaks for itself. You misread (or didn't read the article), and now you're trying to cover. Better luck next time.
