The last time this guy wrote a piece that illuzzi published I tore into him.

He is a professor at Medille College in Buffalo and writes for ArtVoice

I did a search and couldn't find it but did find some interesting articles about the anti war vote in Auburn.

Coalition members would later learn he was labeling them as “commy#1” [sic.], “commy#2” [sic.] and so on, recording everything they said and did. They found his notes on the web.

They saw it on the Internet, so it must be true ;)

And it should also come as no surprise that this peace movement would wind up in the crosshairs of a new pro-war movement intent on frightening, harassing and disrupting grassroots anti-war activism.

Oh, da pooooooor babies. Can't stand the light of day, can ya?

My wife wrote this piece about him last year

Them Are Fightin’ Words, Son

The IlluzziLetter.com (local, on-line political talk) recently featured a lengthy diatribe by a one Michael I. Niman, who refers to the Bush Administration as a regime, “since the term ‘government’ usually refers to an elected body”, the Salvation Army as a homophobic hate group, and he asserts,
“The U.S. was founded not as a Christian nation...but as a pluralistic nation whose strengths lie in its diversity.” As it turns out, Mr. Niman is a new professor at Medaille College. Surprise, surprise.
Revising history seems to have become a national pastime for our ivory tower “intellectuals”, and bashing the Constitution with their constitutionally protected right of free speech is routine. The sad part is, he's probably teaching his own students similar untruths and disregard for the law. Mr. Niman need only read the Constitution, Art. II, Sec. I establishing the electoral college, & briefly view the multitude of historical documents & quotes of the founders, to render his arguments null & void. At a minimum, he might read the New England Primer, the grammar school textbook that taught scripture & biblical values in America’s public schools for over 100 years. But while we pray that he receive wisdom in his weakness, he will likely continue to prey upon our greatest strength ~ Jesus Christ.
Advisory to anyone attending Medaille: Get out, or get in, that you may “know thine enemy”. Let us know if you’d like a copy, complete with one keen observer’s rebuttal. Note: Niman’s not the enemy - only his thinking is.

"It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists but by Christians, not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason people of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here." ~Patrick Henry

“...it does not require a majority to prevail, butrather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds.” ~Samuel Adams

From the article:

In this sense, the organization and its FReepers represent a rather benign part of this nation’s political tapestry.

Hey, there's no need to get personally insulting over this. I resent FR being called benign. :=)

While the individual FReepers may not be a sophisticated bunch, the Free Republic moderators seem quite adept at what they do. They're careful not to alienate potential support among non-Arab minorities while using anti-Arab hysteria to whip up frenzied opposition to an amorphous movement of "commies." It's the precision of the FReeping message that is particularly alarming, as the organization seems to be coalescing a movement of brown shirts, much like Manuel Noriega's "Dignity Battalions," to whip George Bush's opposition into line - in the same way El Salvador and Guatemala?s death squads effectively stifled popular political opposition in those countries for years. Threats of violence among FReepers are also not a problem - as long as they serve to keep the riff raff in line. Hence, it shouldn't come as any surprise that peace activists featured on the FReeping site have later been the victims of death threats.

This is just flat-out lying and defamation. Death threats? Very clever--doesn't say that the death threats actually CAME from any FReeper, but certainly implies it.

Brownshirts? Can you say "Lawsuit"?

The Left just hates it when you're effective. Oh for the good old days of the 60s when they could trash and burn anything they wanted and the three major networks would just give the little darlings pass. Sorry, sir. Those days are long gone. You can't make every effort to take this country down with impunity any more. Too bad, so sad.

Also, didn't know "The Moderators" had so much power. (/sarcasm)

And it should also come as no surprise that this peace movement would wind up in the crosshairs of a new pro-war movement intent on frightening, harassing and disrupting grassroots anti-war activism. The stalker eavesdropping on the Cayuga Coalition for Peace turned out to be a postal worker from nearby Port Byron. Within moments he managed to adequately disrupt the coalition’s meeting, making himself the center of attention as a mix of angry and frightened attendees debated about how to handle the interloper. Lost was any discussion of the impending war and the upcoming votes on the pending anti-war resolutions.

What can we make of this? First, these lefties are so paranoid that they consider it harassment for someone to simply attend their open meeting and make a record of what happened there, even without using real names. Second. this was enough to disrupt their meeting and prevent them from getting anything done, even forcing them to change the venue.

This story reminds me of some anti-gunners who thought they were so very clever in attending a local NRA Members' Council meeting in San Jose. During the meeting someone spotted one of them hiding a tape recorder under his jacket. At a break, someone asked them about it. They admitted they were with the Brady bunch, looking like they were expecting to be thrown out if not worse. Our guys told them, "That's fine you can attend any time. No need to hide your recorder. If you play it back to your group they might even learn something." They never came back.

This guy is really funny. What an impotent little girlyman. Aw, we hurt his feelings. Gee, I guess we are really dangerous, huh? He doesn't like the word "commie" but uses "brown shirt." You've gotta love it.

I remember reading (and probably) commenting on the original thread and golly gee, I don't remember all that hyperbole the ("Marxist") writer used in this hit piece.

And since when is it "threatening" for a FReeper to attend a "Marxist" peace meeting - all alone - and take notes?

Seems to me if they were so proud of what they do, they'd be glad to have their meetings covered in public forums!

A local rag did a similar hit piece on me about a year ago. The writer CLAIMED I used filthy language on a post (after-action report), and it was all lies. I took a lot of criticism from FReepers for my language when in truth, the writer made it all up! Watch your backs, FRiends! The cockroaches are jumping!

The Port Byron mailman, however, represents the dark dirty underbelly of the FReeping movement

I was involved in the 2000 Election, and many Left-wing inflitrators sat in convention meetings, taking notes, trying to listen into private conversations, while peering aimlessly into space (appearing to seem like they weren't listening.)

The Left is just mad because they got caught conspiring against this Nation by one SMART American!

Good Work!!
