Turk, you've hung in here and I've learned a lot from you about the complexities of the region.Right now reason, understanding, and courtesy are missing because we've had it with Chirac, with the UN,with diplomacy and the troops not being allowed to base in Turkey.I have but one thing that concerns me.I'm sick of the left and the right who preach and whine,I just want our troops to be able to do their jobs, with as little loss as is possible.

"They may need help someday."
Yes, like the day a troop of our Boy Scouts invades Paris to bitch-slap Chirac and kick the smelly, frog-eating asses of the dozen or so senile cheese-eaters who forgot to surrender....

Not the table cloth pattern on the Frog's shirt. Made from a discarded camel-stained turban, no doubt....

That is what the press says - these polling samples run to about a thousand people. Do you believe every poll out of the New York Times or the DNC? Is this how countries conduct diplomacy? In fact the vote was pretty close. Even still, yes, actively seeking our defeat is very close to an act of war. Why would it matter the percentage that felt that way in Turkey? It is up to the Government of Turkey, not some newpaper. And don't forget that we may meet the Turks in the field.
There is something quite odd about this.

My search showed otherwise. How hard did you look?
You wouldn't be disingenuos would you?

It doesn't really matter, I think we changed our flight plans already. I read last night that Turkey had forbidden our right to fly-over. I imagine that Chirac is appealing to the Muslim theocrats for unity. I just hope when this over that France pays a high price for their duplicity.

It's after midnight there. Who was at the meeting? LOL!
Anyway, I don't see this having any impact. We boycotted those clowns a couple of years ago for their insulence.
TRUST the French.. /sarc

We'll see who is talking when they lose all their oil contracts and get boycotted.

Using the SAME criteria he used, you get no hits on google.
Put your search text in quotes. Without quotes, you get over 100,000 hits.

Yes, but do an honest search and see what you find. Just one shot at "feeling lucky" is a stupid way to search.

Best guess; France almost certainly has broken UN trade sanctions with Iraq. They've got lots of deals with Iraq that are in jeopardy.
The 'secret' might be that France wants to lead a coalition (the EU) as a counterweight to the U.S., since the Soviet Union couldn't do it. It is very convenient that he can damage Tony Blair at the same time.
I'll buy the more sinister idea that France has supported terrorism. Chirac was the first to the WTC---good cover eh?
Also large and growing Muslim population in France. Agreed that somethings up.

Look, as if Chirac hadn't already stepped over the line. As far as I can see this is an act of war. If I were Bush I would suspend diplomatic relations with France ASAP.

Would be a damn good idea to put that B.S. aircraft carrier of theirs on the bottom of the ocean as a message Just make sure that we sink their SSBN's at the same time. They have two of them.

Step 1. Type a "
Step 2. Type United States Military Victories
Step 3. Type a "
Step 4. Click the "Google Search" Button.
I AGREE that it's a stupid way to search. His Original post was EXACTLY THAT! A stupid search. I was pointing that out.
Trust me on this, I'm all for trade Tariffs on France and if they continue to ratchet up the ACTIVE anti-American activities, I'm All for rolling down the Champ Elysees with M1A1 tanks and showing up at Chirac's office and asking him to come out and play. France SUCKS. EFF the French. That's not the point. The guy who posted about "French Military Victories" was being disingenuous. By _HIS_ searcg Criteria, I.e. a google search, the United States has no military victories, something we OBVIOUSLY know isn't true.
Sheesh.
