"Thanks for posting that news report from last June. Maybe people who cannot understand how cynical some of us who have been following this case all along have become about anything the Smarts have to say will understand if they read this and compare it to the current official version. Poor MK's credibility is shot, along with whoever put her up to saying these things."
My pleasure, IJ. There are many such press reports, all basically saying the same thing, out there.
Must we have a disclaimer that says "we thank the Lord Elizabeth is alive and well"?
OTOH, I cannot set Ed Smart up on a pedestal simply because he got his daughter home alive. There are just too many issues unresolved in this case, that justify asking questions.
Now, we hear that Elizabeth's Cousin may have been a victim of an attempted kidnapping by the same perp.
Wonder how Mitchell knew where to look for the cousin?

Ed is very far from deserving a pedestal, that's for sure!
But knowing what we know now, I think his only real faults in this thing are perhaps stupidity and naivete.
You know, we've all noticed that Ed and Tom are weird. Could weirdness run in the family? Maybe poor Elizabeth is a little bit off, too--that is, suggestible and susceptible to delusion?
That thing about the cousin is mind-blowing. I wonder, also, if maybe Mitchell had plans for MARY CATHERINE?
I would think that he got the cousin's address from Elizabeth. If she was deluded, or intimidated, or brainwashed, or drugged, enough to follow the psycho and his "wife" around, then she'd have done what he told her--and maybe she gave him the cousin's name to please him. Frightening.

Spectre, do you know if there were two different sketches made? I thought I read that the other day when the police were saying why they didn't release the one the Smart family was pushing. I've only seen one.
