I wish that Tom Carter, in his article today, had recalled the evidence he himself published ten days previously, evidence showing that, although risky sex is a major cause of African AIDS, dirty syringes and contaminated medication vials are even more important. Uganda is a country on the mend not just in its morals, but also economically. I'm all for sexual morality. But might part of Uganda's AIDS improvement stem from doctors and nurses taking more care with injection hygiene?
