Breaking News -
03/12/2003 Radio Stations in IRAN have reported the Capture of Osama Bin Laden in PAKISTAN.
The CIA is however saying that there is no truth to these reports.
Further information will be posted as it becomes available...
Following is the article/email:
(AFX-Focus) 2003-03-12 13:35 GMT: Osama bin Laden captured in Pakistan - BBC monitoring Iran radio UPDATE (Updating with earlier report from Pakistan Tribune)
LONDON (AFX) - Osama bin Laden has been captured in Pakistan, according to a report picked up from Iranian radio by the BBC's global monitoring service.
No further details were currently available.
Earlier, the Pakistan Tribune reported allied forces had initiated a "massive" operation in the southern Afghan region of Paktia -- which borders Pakistan -- as part of the hunt for Al-Qaeda.
In a report on its website, the newspaper cited eyewitnesses as saying allied forces had begun searching houses and other places without notice.
A complete restriction was also been imposed on display of weapons in the region and "every car" was also being stopped during patrolling for checking Al-Qaeda network, it reported.
There is, however, currently no indication of any link between these two reports.

I have no idea as to the validity of this, but it was just sent to me via e-mail by a very reliable source.
Anyone have any ideas?

If this one isn't true, another one will be very soon. Thereafter: 1) Pakistan has to have some deniability; 2) US and UK sources will say it ain't so; 3) OBL will be moved to some non-sensitive political location; 4) GWB will reveal capture at opportune moment.

This is about the third announcement in as many weeks. I guess we just have to "trust" the gov to release the information at the "proper" time.

Only posted 400 times. Dateline is yesterday.
I can understand your confusion. There is a new version of this in the news every day. It might even be true.

Let it live or die on its own. It is curious how persistent these reports are.

I think we have him. We had almost a week of "closing in on him" -type articles, culminating in one that said we had him pinned down to 25 square miles. Then, we heard this, followed by many denials by all authorities. But absolutely no more articles about nets closing in.

You know, the capture of OBL would explain the big market rally today.
To: Gracey
Fox News has been saying that his capture could be "hours away" for the last three days. I figured that if they really caught up with him, it wouldn't become public knowledge right away. Perhaps he's dead, perhaps they've already had him for several months now. The whole idea of him being tracked in a slow moving caravan in Southwestern Afghanistan seemed too "Hollywood" to me to be anything other than wartime disinformation.
To: Gracey
I think we have him. Hubby says they won't make the official announcement till it's appropriate though. Bush will use it to maximum benefit. BUSH IS COOL!!!

This shows up every day now. Is he in a catch and release program?

potential for truth The bin Laden part might be. The Osama part probably isn't.

Thanks dear friend. As stated, I have NO idea. You're correct though, Bush would NOT be announcing it NOW.

They report this, then trace all the cell phones to see who calls who and says what.
