Father and son shot in apparent terror attack in capital (UPDATE)
By ETGAR LEFKOVITS

Two Israeli motorists, a father and son, were shot and wounded in their vehicle in Jerusalem's Musrara neighborhood Thursday evening, in what police are calling an apparent terror attack.

The son was shot in the stomach and seriously wounded, while the father was moderately wounded by a bullet in his shoulder.

The two Israelis were sitting in their car on the neighborhood's Rehov Daniel at about 6: 15 p.m. when an young armed assailant approached their vehicle on foot, and then shot them both at close range, police said.

The assailant then fled on foot in the direction of the Old City, while the two victims were rushed to Jerusalem's Hadassah University Hospital at Ein Kerem.

A manhunt is under way for the attacker.

The neighborhood that shooting took place in borders on east Jerusalem.

The shooting, if terror-related as police believe, shattered a two month lull in attacks in the capital.

The last terror attack in the city occurred on December 28 when a crude car bomb exploded, but failed to cause any injuries.

Before that, the last major attack in Jerusalem was the deadly November 21 suicide bombing that killed 11 people in the city's Kiryat Menahem neighborhood.
