NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - French-owned Sofitel takes precautionary measures in U.S. due to anti-French.
French flags no longer are flying high and proud outside the Sofitel Hotel in midtown Manhattan. The French-owned hotel chain replaced them with the Stars and Stripes as a peace offering to its American guests.

Seagrams has been grabbing and selling some well know wineries in the wine country of California. They have a lot of money and are ruthless.

Black Opal Shiraz is quite nice, too (Australian) but some Texas wines are good as well. I recommend Llano Estacado Merlot or Cabernet Savignon.

One more reason (other than an uncle who I never met: he died over that stinking cesspool known as France during the last days of WW2) to utterly despise France. Sorry to say this but I wish we had left the Frogs to the WW1 Germans. Would have solved A LOT of problems. Now a question: is the French Military Museum REALLY full of all white regimental flags and almost new rifles (only dropped once)?

Chile has some lovely wines as does Australia. Our Napa wines and some local vineyards do produce a marvelous variety for those inclined to buy American. Please do remember SF and LA are NOT repeat NOT anything like the rest of the Golden State. They are louder and stupider is all. :-)

Good. But I hope that they thoroughly wash and bleach that white sheet before putting it on a guest's bed, though. NYC pigeons carry nasty diseases..........

Hey,Air France is a great ride. You certainly had a different experience than my husband who was forced to fly that airline out of Houston frequently in the 70s and 80s. He called it Air Chance -- all the men in the oil patch did. He has a list of stories a mile long about rude treatment from the cabin crews, lost reservations, etc. It was so bad one time that the president of the company called the agent after particularly noxious treatment and the airline actually gave them 2 free first class tickets for their next flight.

In protest against American warmongering, France has officially removed the red and blue stripes from its flag.

What, they don't have the patriotism to fly the true national flag of France?
The White Flag? (easily made from Sofitel white bedsheets)

Do I have to throw away the stuff I already own by these brands?
I was surprised by Rowenta (thought it was German or Swedish), RCA & Pro Scan (thought they were American), Jameson & Hennessy (thought they were Irish). The RCA change must have occurred in the last 10 years. I thought they were the last TVs to be made in the USA, and that is why I bought one in the early 90s.

No! We have a 12 year old RCA tv that still works. It will be replaced with a Japanese model when it dies. We bought ours as the last American made tv.
We have and use the La Crusset pots, pans, skillets. We bought them about 20 years ago. However, we will not buy anymore.
The same goes for our German made knives. Some have been around for decades. I bought a pair of scissors a couple of months ago that was not German made.

So Dannon yogurt is French? It figures, I'm still boycotting them for their unapologetic support of that Million Mom March farce.

We have a 12 year old RCA tv that still works...Might be the same model that I have. 27", PIP. It's great, and I have the ProScan VCR to match. I think they called it their Home Theatre line, and it was one of the last American made TVs. The PIP feature is the only part that I wouldn't bother with the next time around. We never use it.
To: afraidfortherepublic
No, ours was the model before the PIP. It has two little speakers that still deliver excellent stereo effects.
We were going to replace it about 3-4 years ago. We were going to the Dish, and my wife said lets see what the picture is like with the Dish instead of the cable. She had a friend who kept an old tv after going to the Dish.
The picture was great and still is good with the Dish. A lot of the problems were with the expensive AT&T cable we had.
