Personally, I'd sue for a lot more than $30M.

It sounds to me as if the mother is angling for a settlement.

My tea leaves say:

* case settled out of court (but for the full amount)

* DEA perps get "promoted" to lifetime meter maid positions, or (and perhaps more likely) see early "retirements" for health reasons

Unresolved issue:

* Does the DEA have meter maids?
