Silliness.

What the French call "pommes frites" and we (used to?) call "French fries" are actually a Belgian dish. "Pain perdu" (literally "lost bread") is what we call "French toast", the idea being that bread too stale to eat as bread can be recovered in this manner.

We're mad at the Germans these days, too. How about bringing back the First World War terminology and call sauerkraut "liberty cabbage" again? In my family it's "kapusta", anyway.

You'll notice that we didn't go for this kind of nonsense in the Second World War.

The real problem is that no product we normally use is called Iraqi-something, Arabic-something, or Muslim-something.

Wait! I forgot about "Arabic" numerals (actually from India but that's what we call them).

I, II, III, IV, V, VI -- Roman numerals
0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 -- Liberty numerals, buddy!

A symbolic show of distain for a culture that has abandoned its chief benefactor is not "silliness."
