The good news for those who believe Gray Davis ought to be dumped from the California governorship is that by a huge margin, most of the state's voters agree that he's doing a lousy job.

A new Los Angeles Times Poll, confirming earlier public and private surveys, found that just 27 percent of California voters approve of his performance, with his handling of energy and budget crises listed as their top complaints.

Democrat Shelley's disapproval of the initial draft has drawn cries from some recall activists that he's deliberately trying to thwart the recall drive, but Costa said he's satisfied that Shelley is being diligent. "I want it to be bulletproof," Costa said Monday.

"....Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante..."

Isn't this the same guy who made racists statements in public last year? The whole lot of pols in CA stink to high heaven. Too bad it appears that the people are unwilling to do anything about it.

There are few that dislike Grayout Davis more than me but recalling him just seems to be an exercise for the petulant. Califorians should have beat him when it counted, at the last election. There is this too: he only marks the peak of many political problems that California is rancid with.

Actually, the Republican opponent, Simon, ran his campaign so badly that nobody with a conscious would vote for him. I am glad Davis won because he lied how much California's defit really was.

I stated this before, leave Davis alone. He can only screw up some more and kill California for the Democrats for years to come.
