The operative phrase here is NON-CONVENTIONALYou're right. I can't imagine a scenario which would trigger a nuclear response. I do think Israel will be allowed to participate (respond) in the event of attacks either from Iraq or Lebanon.

No, he won't take it kindly... but I doubt he unleashes his greatest weapon first. Well, whatever happens, I hope no one uses NBC at all. That is nuclear, biological, chemical, or WMD, as most others would say. I prefer the term NBC myself. We used it in the Air Force.

If he does, and used it, I think Israel would be constrained by the allied presence on the ground. Could the US withdraw, to whatever extent necessary, and let Israel be the one to do it, you bet. If it came to that it would be better to let Israel take the heat, but they wouldn't unilaterally.

Well considering that the Bush State Department has tried to block the law suit on the Saudi Royals by 911 survivors. That it allowed Yemen to keep those scud missiles and other such things, has ignored that Saudi has 120 medium ballistic missiles and has WMD, is apparently allowing the Turks to do an imperialist land grab for oil...I don't know what to make of this.
Not to mention that talk of Hamas as a target has all but disappeared.

That's because WMD are not necessarly NBC. There are also fuel air explosives that can level whole blocks of cities or cluster munitions if used against civilians.

You can't have the Israelis jump into the middle of a war we are fighting. The Arab world our bases are on would go nuts. We don't need that while fighting.
What can Israel do that we could not or are not already doing if they were attacked? Nuke Baghdad? Our people are in Baghdad. That is not acceptable.

"No, they won't. There are 10 million people in Baghdad. 10 million, mostly innocent. I cannot believe the Israeli government would do such a thing. I also do not believe Israel will do anything to put American troops at risk."
Well, uh, maybe you ought to consult the crew of the USS Liberty on that point before you go too far out there. Israel doesn't worry about anyone but Israel. Period.
